Box Score FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton women's soccer lost 3-0 to No. 5 UCLA on Sunday evening in Titan Stadium. The two teams played in front of 7,832 fans, smashing the previous program record for single-game attendance of 1,617 on Oct. 9, 2015. Excluding NCAA Tournament games, it is the seventh-highest single-game attendance in NCAA Women's Soccer history.
The Bruins of UCLA jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the 10th minute thanks to Maricarmen Reyes' left-footed strike. The Titans then battled and hung in there, keeping the score at 1-0 until the 77th minute when UCLA got its second goal (Quincy McMahon) and then the third in the 79th (Mia Fishel) to secure the win.
Fullerton had three shots, two of which were on target. UCLA took 17 shots and eight were on target as redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Noa Schumacher made five saves for the Titans. CSF won four corner kicks, all in the second half, while UCLA won seven total.
Next up, the Titans will host their alumni match on Thursday in Titan Stadium at 7 p.m. PT. Following that, the regular season resumes with a road match at No. 4 Santa Clara on Sunday, Aug. 29 at 1 p.m. The Broncos are the defending NCAA Champions.
