IRVINE, Calif. - Isabella Cruz of the Cal State Fullerton women's soccer team was named the Big West Offensive Player week for the final week of the regular season. Â
In her final regular season game for the Titans, Cruz scored her first career brace in the 2-0 win at Cal State Bakersfield. She broke the scoreless deadlock in the 56th minute after being taken down inside the box. She scored a penalty kick to make it a 1-0 game.
She added her second goal of the game in the 73rd minute. After getting the ball on the far side of the box, she dribbled into the box and shot it low past the keeper to make it a 2-0 game.
Cruz finished the regular season tied for the Big West lead in goals (7) and the leader in points with 19 (7 goals, 5 assists). Â
This was the second career weekly honor for Cruz. These were the seventh weekly awards for the Titans this season.Â
Isabella Cruz won two awards,
Isaac Ranson won three awards, and
Sail Bozinovic/
Camryn Cruz each won one award. Â
The Titans will be the No. 3 seed on Sunday's Big West Championship First Round match. The Titans will be hosting Cal State Bakersfield at 5 PM.
