Titans Fall in Semifinals at UC San Diego

LA JOLLA, Calif. - The No. 3 seeded Cal State Fullerton Titans women's soccer team fell 1-0 to the No. 2 seeded UC San Diego Tritons on Saturday night at the Triton Soccer Stadium.

After being outshot at home in the previous matchup, the Titans outshot the Tritons 18-to-13 for the game and during each half.

The Tritons had the first three shots of the first half before the Titans rattled off seven straight shots. Cayla Oliveira, Sail Bozinovic, and Sasha Amezcua each had a shot saved.

The Tritons scored the only goal of the game in the 41st minute. After a half clearance from a Titans defender went right back to a Triton player.  She played a through ball to Lana Giligan who beat the Titan defenders for a 1-on-1 with Allison Craycroft and slotted it underneath her to give the Tritons a 1-0 lead before halftime.

The Titans pressed for an equalizer in the second half but couldn't unlock the Tritons defense.  Kaylin Raibon had a free kick sail just over the bar on what would've been a long distance strike.

Allison Craycroft made 5 saves for the game and finished her rookie campaign with 11 victories, 8 shutouts, 88 saves, and a .772 save percentage. Her eight shutouts were tied for the fifth most in a single season and her 88 saves were tied for 9th most in a single season.

The Titans finished the season with a 11-4-6 overall record and 7-1-3 record in conference play.  Two of the Titans losses came against UC San Diego.  This is also the last time the Titans will play UC San Diego as a member of the Big West Conference with the Tritons leaving for the WCC beginning next season.

This was the most prolific offense that the team has had since the 2019 season where they scored 43 goals.  The 43 goals were tied for the 6th most in a single season in program history. The Titans 43 goals were 13th in the country in total goals heading into final game against UC San Diego.

The Titans had just two official seniors on the roster for the season as Camryn Cruz wraps up her two year Titan career with 30 career points on 12 goals and six assists after coming to the Titans without scoring a goal at St. Mary's.  Kaylin Raibon finished tied in program history for the most starts (80) with Kellie Cox and the most appearances (84) with Sarah Fajnor.  Raibon finished her Titans career with 35 points on 10 goals and 15 assists despite being a defender.
