Ranson Named Goalkeeper of the Year as Titans Garner 10 Honors

IRVINE, Calif. - The Big West Conference announced the 2025 women's soccer yearly honors and the Titans were represented by nine different players. Isaac Ranson was the only Titan to be earn a major award as he was named the Big West Goalkeeper of the Year.  The Titans matched the 2014 and 2017 team with nine individuals on the team gathering all-conference recognition.  Only the 2005 team had more individuals represented with 11 players.  The Titans had three players named to the All-Big West First Team, one player named to the All-Big West Second Team, three players named All-Big West Honorable Mention, and two players named to the All-Big West Freshman team.  The Titans have had at least one representative named to the All-Big West Freshman team for 13 straight seasons.

RS-Senior goalkeeper Isaac Ranson picked up his second Big West Goalkeeper of the Year award after winning the honor in 2023. Ranson picked up the ninth Goalkeeper of the Year award for the Titans soccer program. He became the first Titan to win the Goalkeeper of the Year award multiple times since Karen Bardsley won it thrice.  Ranson became the fourth Big West goalkeeper to win the award multiple times after Bardsley (CSF/2004-06), Cynthia Jacobo (CSUN/2011-12), Jovani McCaskill (CSUN/2016-17).  Isaac Ranson became the fifth Titan to have earned All-Big West Honors for four seasons and the first since 2005, joining Kellie Cox, Vanessa Valentine, Karen Bardsley, and Marlene Sandoval. Ranson was All-Second Team in 2022, All-First Team in 2023, Honorable Mention in 2024, and All-First Team in 2025.  Ranson broke three major Titan program history awards in goalkeeping this season.  First passing the All-Time saves mark set by Bardsley (312) saves.  Ranson is up to 341 saves for his career and fifth all-time in the Big West.  The second mark Ranson broke was the all-time shutouts record which was 26 by Bardsley.  Ranson is up to 30 shutouts and is now third all-time in the Big West.  Ranson also surpassed Bardsley career minutes of 6,395 minutes played. Ranson is now up to 6,754 career minutes which is third all-time in the Big West.  Ranson is second all-time in career wins with 35 in program history. With 12 wins this season, Ranson is tied for fourth all-time in a single season in program history.  Nationally, Ranson has been one of the best keepers across the country.  Ranson is second in the country 12 shutouts. Ranson has the fourth best save percentage in the country at .896.  Ranson has the fourth best Goals Against Average in the country at 0.40.  Ranson and the defense are tied for first in the country with 13 shutouts nationally. The defense currently has the third best Goals Allowed Average in the country at 0.39.  They are also tied with Tennessee for the third lowest goals allowed this season at seven.  Ranson won the Big West Defensive Player of the Week three times this season.  For Isaac's career, he tied Elise Krieghoff (Cal Poly) with 9 POTW honors for the most in the Big West history.  *However, one of them was a freshman of the week honor which doesn't count towards the total in Big West record keeping, so Ranson is second all-time with 8 carer POTW honors.

Senior forward Isabella Cruz was named to the All-Big West First Team for the third consecutive season.  Isabella Cruz became the fifth Titan in program history and first since 2015 to earn Three All-Big West First Team Honors, joining Kellie Cox, Kandace Wilson, Karen Bardsley, and Morgan Batcheller. Cruz became the 18th player in Big West history to be named a Three-Time All Conference First Teamer. Cruz had her best year offensively after leading the team in points (19), goals (7), and assists (5).  Cruz led the Big West with 19 points and was joint top scorer in the league with three others with seven goals.  Isabella Cruz and Camryn Cruz led the Big West with 5 game winning goals and were tied for 10th nationally in the category.  Cruz was named the Big West Offensive Player of the Week twice this season.

RS-Junior midfielder Camryn Cruz was named to the All-Big West First Team for the first time in their career.  Cruz, transferred from Saint Mary's College this year had a prolific offensive year for the Titans after registering just one career point for the Gaels.  Cruz was second on the team with 13 points, second on the team with 6 goals, and also tallied one assist. She was tied for sixth in the conference with 13 points. Isabella Cruz and Camryn Cruz led the Big West with 5 game winning goals and were tied for 10th nationally in the category.  Camryn Cruz also earned one Big West Offensive Player of the Week award.  For field players, Camryn Cruz led the team with 1,431 minutes played.

RS-Senior defender Taya Townsell was named to the All-Big West Second Team for the second time in her career.  Townsell became the 31st Titan in program history to have earned at least two All-Big West Recognition in their career.  Townsell started and played in 16 matches so far this season, missing just two games to injury. Townsell is the leader of the backline that has been one of the best defenses in the country. Townsell and the defense are tied for first in the country with 13 shutouts nationally. The defense currently has the third best Goals Allowed Average in the country at 0.39.  They are also tied with Tennessee for the third lowest goals allowed this season at seven.

Sophomore defender Isabella Contreras was named a Big West Honorable Mention for the first time in her career.  She was named to the All-Freshman team last season.  She played in 17 games, making 14 starts so far this season.   She has tallied three points so far for the season, scoring her first career goal against LMU and tallying an assist against New Mexico State. Contreras and the defense are tied for first in the country with 13 shutouts nationally. The defense currently has the third best Goals Allowed Average in the country at 0.39.  They are also tied with Tennessee for the third lowest goals allowed this season at seven.

RS-Sophomore defender Skye Johnson was named a Big West Honorable Mention for the first time in her career.  Skye has played in 16 games this season, making 15 starts.  She has tallied five points for the season.  She scored the first two goals of her career in a brace against New Mexico.  She also tallied an assist against Hawaii. Johnson and the defense are tied for first in the country with 13 shutouts nationally. The defense currently has the third best Goals Allowed Average in the country at 0.39.  They are also tied with Tennessee for the third lowest goals allowed this season at seven.

RS-Senior midfielder/defender Jenae Perez was named a Big West Honorable Mention for the first time in her career.  Perez has started and played in all 18 games for the Titans this year.  Perez has been a key utility player for the Titans this season having spent time in defense, in the midfield, and up top.   She has tallied six points for the Titans this season.  She scored her lone goal of the season against UTEP. She has also garnered assists against New Mexico State, UC Riverside, and UC Davis. Perez and the defense are tied for first in the country with 13 shutouts nationally. The defense currently has the third best Goals Allowed Average in the country at 0.39.  They are also tied with Tennessee for the third lowest goals allowed this season at seven.

Freshman forward Kayalily Penn was named to the All-Big West Freshman team.  Penn was the 19th Titan to be named to the All-Freshman team and continued the Titans streak of having at least one player named to the All-Freshman team since it began in 2012. Penn has played in all 18 matches this season, making seven starts.  She has registered three points for the season.  She picked up an assist against LMU and scored her first career goal against Hawai'i. She is third on the team with 29 shots for the season.

Freshman midfielder Sienna Pimentel was named to the All-Big West Freshman team.  Pimentel became the 20th Titan to be named to the All-Freshman team and continued the Titans streak of having at least one player named to the All-Freshman team since it began in 2012.  Pimentel has played in all 18 games, making 8 starts.  Pimentel who plays as a defensive midfielder has been a huge part of the defense that is tied for first in the country with 13 shutouts nationally. The defense currently has the third best Goals Allowed Average in the country at 0.39.  They are also tied with Tennessee for the third lowest goals allowed this season at seven.

The Titans finished the regular season with a 13-2-3 overall record and a 6-2-2 conference record.  They finished third in the Big West with 20 points.  The Titans who are the No. 3 seed in the 2025 Big West Championship will host No. 6 Cal State Bakersfield on Sunday, November 2nd at 5:00 PM in the first round of the tournament.
