SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Titans women's tennis concluded their first tournament of the 2023-24 season this past weekend at the SoCal Intercollegiate Championships held at the Hogan Tennis Center at the University of San Diego.

Newcomer Josie Usereau made it the furthest for the Titans in singles play.  She defeated Iva Zelic (Portland) 6-1, 7-5 in her first round matchup. She defeated #90 Kristina Novak (Oklahoma State University) 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 in the Round of 16.  She lost to the eventual tournament champion Mia Mack (University of San Diego) in the quarterfinals 6-4, 6-3.

Natalie Duffy defeated Tina Li (BYU) 6-3, 6-4 in her first round match up.  She upset Anastasiya Komar (Oklahoma State) 7-6 (3), 1-6, 6-3 in her second round matchup. Komar is ranked #8 nationally in singles.  In the third round, Duffy was eliminated by Gracie Mulville (Kansas) 6-3, 6-2 Kaytlin Taylor lost in her round matchup against Raquel Gonzalez (Oklahoma State) 6-2, 4-6, 6-1.

Sein Myoung lost in her first round matchup against Elizabeth Goldsmith (USD) 6-1, 7-5 In doubles, the pairing of Duffy and Usereau lost to Pethybridge/Zelic (University of Portland) 6-2 in the Round of 16.  

The pairing of Desiatnikov/Bruu-Syversen (University of San Diego) def. Myoung/Taylor 6-2 in the Round of 32.

The Titans will host their annual fundraiser Tennis with the Titans on Saturday, September 30th.

The Titans will return to court action next week at the Long Beach Invitational
