SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The No. 3 seeded Cal State Fullerton Titans women's tennis team lost to the No. 6 seeded CSUN Matadors in the Big West Championship Quarterfinals on Thursday at the Barnes Tennis Center.Â
The Titans were trailing 3-0 before coming back and tying the match at 3-all. It came down to a final showdown on Court No. 3 as freshman
Amelia Zylberman was locked into a three set battle with Nicole West after rallying in the second set to send the match into a final third set.  After Zylberman started the third set up 2-0, West defeated Zylberman 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 to win the match for the Matadors.
The Titans finished the season with a 14-8 overall record and 6-3 record in conference play in Head Coach
Ellie Johnson's second season at the helm.
The Titans fell behind 1-0 after losing the doubles point. Â The Matadors won on Court 6 while the Titans won on Court 2 behind

Martina Markov to even the doubles up at 1-1. Â However, on Court 1 the Matadors No. 1 pairing of Angela Ho/Nicole prevailed over Emile Lugon-Moulin and
Seha Yu 7-5 to take crucial doubles point.
In singles, the Matadors went ahead 3-0 after winning on Court 6 and and Court 1.
Emilie Lugon-Moulin got the first Titan point back after winning 6-1, 6-3 in straight sets on Court 2 over Emma Moratalla Sanz. Â
Milena Gevorgyan got the second Titans point on Court 5 after winning 6-3, 6-2 over Talia Harper.
Seha Yu tied the match at 3-all on Court 4 after defeating Satsuki Ishikawa 6-3, 7-5 setting up the final showdown on Court 3 where the Titan's
Amelia Zylberman fell just short in the third set.
For the Titans, five of the eight players on the roster will be back next season. They graduate three seniors from the roster in
Milena Gevorgyan,
Chloe Schwarz, and
Madison Schwarz. Â
