LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State demonstrated why they are perennially one of the best teams in the Big West, as they defeated the Titans 6-1 on Friday afternoon at the Rhodes Tennis Center.  The match was Fullerton's league opener.

While all the Titans performed admirably, only Eira Tobrand was able to force a third set super tiebreaker in singles, and deliver a point for the Titans and avoid the shutout.  All of the Titans improved their scores during their singles second sets with the Beach.

Cal State Fullerton (7-4, 0-1 BWC) will return home on Monday, March 9 at 1:30 p.m. when they will host the Memphis Tigers on the Titan Courts.
