FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton women's tennis improves to 11-2 for the season after successfully defeating Boston University 4-0 on Friday.
The Titans started off doubles play explosive as they took all three courts in their favor.
The dynamic duo of Sarah Nuno and Karla Portalatin had a flawless 6-0 win on court number one over Lily Burchell and Remi Ramos. Danielle Pham and Caisey Lee Emery also had a powerful set as they too found a 6-0 win over Katya Martens and Dani Blaser.
Genevieve Zeidan and Masako Makiba bested Iryna Kostirko and Emily Kim 7-5 to secure the win for the Titans.
On court number four of doubles play, Jadie Acidera and Luxizi Meng defeated Malik/O'Fagan 7-5.
As the Titans made their way into singles play, the momentum stayed in favor of Fullerton.
Genevieve Zeidan was the first to finish and defeat Remi Ramos 6-1, 6-2. Karla Portalatin would follow with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Burchell.
To wrap things up for the day, Sarah Nuno came back to win 1-6, 6-0, 6-2 over Kostirko.
The following matches were stopped as the Titans clinched the victory. Luxizi Meng vs. Kim 6-7(4), 1-2, Caisey Lee Emery vs. Martens 5-7, 2-1, and Masako Makiba vs. O'Fagan 3-6, 5-0.
Jadie Acidera found a win on singles court number seven against Blaser 6-0, 6-2.
The Titans look to finish the weekend strong as they take on Utah State, Sunday at 11 a.m., weather permitting.
