Long Beach State swept all six singles matches and Head Coach Jenny Hilt-Costello won her 118th career match at LBSU as the 49ers rolled to a 7-0 win over visiting Cal State Fullerton on Friday afternoon at the Campus Courts. The No. 47-ranked 49ers improve to 2-2 overall and 1-0 in Big West Conference play while the Titans fall to 0-5 overall and 0-3 in Big West action. The victory was the 12th consecutive win by Long Beach State over CS Fullerton.

The victory by the 49ers represented the 118th for Hilt-Costello, making her the winningest women's tennis coach in Long Beach State history. She passes Robin Kahn who collected 117 victories from 1980-1989. Hilt-Costello is now 118-78 in her ninth season at Long Beach State.

Long Beach won the doubles point winning at the No. 2 and 3 poistions. At the No. 2 spot, Hannah Grady and Krystina Katayama won 8-2 over Mai-Ly Tran and Shaghig-Shelly Injejikian. At No. 3 doubles, Stpehanie Bengson and Rachael Porsz won 8-3 over Ashley Dunbar and Cheynee Inglis. The lone loss for the 49ers came at No. 1 doubles as the Titans Gina Le and Ruya Inapulat won 8-4 over Sandra Rocha and Katy Williams. Rocha and Williams led 4-3, but saw the Titan duo win the next five games to come away with the upset win.

In singles play the 49ers were able to dominate, winning all six matches in straight sets. At No. 1 singles, Grady dispatched of Inapulat 6-1, 6-0 while Williams won at No. 2 singles 6-2, 6-4 over Le. Bengson was victorious at the No. 3 spot 6-3, 6-2 over Tran and Rocha won 6-3, 6-2 over Inglis at the four spot. Porsz continued the strong singles play with a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 5 over Injejikiann and Emmanuelle Tabatruong won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6 over Dunbar.

The 49ers will next be in action on Saturday, February 11 when they host Loyola Marymount at 11 am at the 49er Tennis Courts. Fullerton hosts UC Santa Barbara Saturday at noon.
