FULLERTON, Calif. – Fullerton's Friday night ace, Mikiah Negrete, has been named a National Pitcher of the Year Semifinalist by the College Baseball Foundation. Negrete is one of 43 of the nation's best pitchers to be selected as a semifinalist. 

Through 10 starts this season, Negrete has a 7-2 record with a 1.33 ERA, 65 strikeouts and just nine walks in 67.2 innings pitched. The southpaw's 1.33 ERA ranks third in the nation while his 1.20 walks per nine innings ranks 13th in the country. 

Negrete was named Big West Pitcher of the Week Monday after allowing just one unearned run in a complete game performance against No. 6 Oregon State. The senior gave up just three hits in the Titans 2-1 win over the Beavers. 

The Titans are back in Big West play this weekend with a three-game series at UC Santa Barbara beginning Friday night.
