CORVALLIS, Ore. – Cal State Fullerton dropped the rubber match against No. 6 Oregon State Sunday afternoon by a final score of 10-2 at Goss Stadium. With the loss the Titans fall to 19-19 on the year.Â
Oregon State took control of the game early, the Beavers scored two runs in the first inning and four in the second to take a quick 6-0 lead.
OSU added three more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to extend their lead to 9-0.Â
Fullerton got on the board in the top of the seventh on a wild pitch which scored Paul Contreras from third base.Â
Ty Thomas continued the seventh inning, hitting an RBI base hit into right field to score Cameron Kim, cutting the deficit to 9-2. Thomas went 2-for-4 on the day with an RBI.
The Beavers added one run in the eighth inning to extend the lead to 10-2.
The Titans look to bounce back this Tuesday as they return home to Goodwin Field for a standalone game against USC at 6:05 p.m.
