Titans Represented by Eight Alumni on MLB Opening Day

FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton baseball is represented by four players and four coaches on MLB Opening Day rosters. 

Tanner Bibee is entering his fourth season with the Cleveland Guardians and third full season in the big leagues. Bibee was named the opening day starter by the Guardians.

Five-time Gold Glove winner, Matt Chapman, is entering his 10th season and third with the San Francisco Giants. 

Michael Lorenezen joined the Colorado Rockies in the offseason and looks to be a key member of the pitching staff after a strong showing in the World Baseball Classic with team Italy. 

Connor Seabold is in his first season with the Detroit Tigers after signing a split major league contract at the big-league level Monday. 

On the coaching side, Mark Kotsay is entering his fifth season as the manager of the A's. Kurt Suzuki earned his first managerial job this offseason, becoming the Angels skipper. 

Dustin Garneau and Matt Wise also represent the Titans on MLB coaching staffs. Garneau is in his first season with the Atlanta Braves as the teams' catching coach. Wise is in Chicago, serving as the bullpen coach for the White Sox.
