Women's Tennis Welcomes Three New Transfers

FULLERTON, Calif. - Head Coach Ellie Johnson of the Cal State Fullerton Titans women's tennis team announced the signings of three new transfers for the upcoming 2025-26 season. The Titans have added Chloe and Madi Schwarz from Western Carolina and Martina Markov from Washington State.

"We're thrilled to welcome Martina, Chloe and Madi to our Titan family this fall, said Ellie Johnson."  "Each of them brings valuable collegiate experience, competitive grit, and a team-first mentality that aligns perfectly with the culture we're building here at Cal State Fullerton. Their addition strengthens our roster and raises the level of intensity on and off the court. We can't wait to see the impact they'll make this season."

Martina Markov

Martina Markov comes to the Titans after spending the last two years in Pullman, Washington. With the Cougars, Markov won the 2025 NIT Championship this past spring.  Markov is coming off a 2025 season where she was named an All-WCC Honorable Mention in doubles.  She ended the season with a 18-10 overall record in doubles and went 13-5 in dual matches and a perfect 7-0 in WCC play at the No. 3 spot. She went 15-11 overall in singles and 9-6 in dual matches.  She went 3-2 at the No. 5 spot and 6-4 at the No. 6 spot.  Her freshman year, she went 9-18 overall in singles and 14-11 in doubles play.

Chloe Schwarz comes to the Titans after a three year career with the Western Carolina Catamounts where they made it for the first time to the semifinals of the Southern Conference Championships.  Chloe Schwarz went 9-4 overall in singles play this past season with all matches at the No. 3 spot.  She comes to Fullerton with 22 wins in singles.  In doubles play, Chloe went 14-6 overall this past season with a majority of her matches coming at the No. 1 spot where she went 10-5.  She has won 30 doubles matches over her three year career with the Catamounts.

Madi Schwarz

Madi Schwarz comes to the Titans after a three year career with the Western Carolina Catamounts where they made it for the first time to the semifinals of the Southern Conference Championships. Madi Schwarz went 8-8 overall in singles play this past season going 1-0 at the No. 2 spot, 3-1 at the No. 3 spot, and 4-7 in the No. 4 spot.  She comes to the Titans with 22 wins in singles play over her three years with the Catamounts. In doubles play this past season, Madi went 13-6 overall after going 6-2 in the No. 1 spot and 6-4 in the No. 3 spot. She has won 35 matches in doubles over the past three seasons.

The Titans have four returning players from last year's team along with an incoming freshman in Amelia Zylberman. The Titans are coming off a 10-10 season under head coach Ellie Johnson's first year at the helm of Cal State Fullerton Women's tennis.
