FULLERTON, Calif. — Cal State Fullerton women's volleyball head coach Nicole Vargas Polster announced the schedule for the upcoming 2024 season on Thursday morning.  

"We are excited to bring back an experienced squad and some new additions," Polster said. "Everyone was able to gain experience last year and we are excited to build off of a successful spring season." 

The Titans open the season hosting the Fullerton Invitational, Aug. 30-31, at Titan Gym. Fullerton will match up with Louisiana Tech and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore on Aug. 30 before playing San Jose State on Aug. 31. The team will then travel to take part in the Gonzaga Invite, Sept. 5-7, where they will face Utah Tech and Gonzaga. 

Fullerton returns home to host its second tournament of the season, the Titan Invitational, Sept. 13-14. The Titans are scheduled to face Alabama A&M and Saint Mary's on Sept. 13 before taking on Oral Roberts on Sept. 14. The team will then take part in the Big West/WAC Showdown, Sept. 20-21, hosted by California Baptist. 

Sept. 24 marks the opening of Big West conference play, when the Titans will host UC Irvine before traveling to Hawai'i on Sept. 28. Fullerton returns to Titan Gym for a four-game home stand, playing host to Cal State Bakersfield, CSUN, UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly. 

The Titans play five of the following six matches on the road before hosting Long Beach State and UC San Diego on Nov. 8 and 9. Fullerton will then play three straight on the road before closing out the regular season at home versus the Rainbow Wahine on Nov. 22, for senior night. 

The second annual Big West Women's Volleyball Championship will take place Nov. 27-30, with the top six teams from the regular season participating. 

Fourth year head coach Polster returns a young 2024 squad, featuring just two seniors in Lyla Traylor and Ashley Chacon. This season's team will include 16 returners, including 2023 Big West All-Freshman Team member Ameena Campbell. Fullerton also welcomes two newcomers in junior transfer Natalie Fernandez and true freshman Rylie Sengdara.
