Rainey Garners ACWPC All-American Honorable Mention

FULLERTON, Calif. – For the second straight year, the Cal State Fullerton Titans women's water polo program had a student-athlete earn All-American recognition as Shyanne Rainey was named an ACWPC All-American Honorable Mention the Collegiate Water Polo Association announced Thursday.

Rainey helped lead the Titans to a 10-19 overall record in its second season as a program.  She led the Titans in their first ever conference win over CSUN by scoring two goals in the 5-4 victory. In the Titans first win over a ranked opponent, Rainey scored a double hat-trick against No. 24 Biola as the Titans won 12-10. Rainey finished the season with 51 goals for the season and was tied for seventh in the conference lead in scoring.  

Rainey's All-American honor comes as the second postseason award she has garnered after earning a Big West Honorable Mention award previously.  Rainey also was the first Titan in program history to earn Player of the Week honors after being named the Big West Player of the Week on February 21st, 2024.
