LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's water polo season came to an end on Friday afternoon in a 18-5 loss against the hosts No. 2 Long Beach State in the Big West Championship Quarterfinals.

The Titans finished their fourth campaign with their first winning record in program history with a 17-15 overall record.  Destiny Hernandez led the Titans by scoring a hat trick in her final collegiate game.  Hernandez also finishes out her three year career as a Titan with the program record of 132 goals and 183 points. Mia Solorzano and Sofia Moschetti also scored one goal a piece.  Renske Boxsem made 8 saves in the cage.   Boxsem finished the season with 201 saves.

It was almost all Long Beach State through the first half of the game.  The Beach jumped to a 4-0 lead after the first quarter.  They got up to a 9-0 lead in the second quarter before Solorzano broke the shutout with a goal with 3:46 left in the second quarter.  The Beach added four more goals before the half ended and led 13-1 after two periods.

The Titans finished out the second half strong as it was a 5-4 difference in the second half.  The Beach scored once in the third before Sofia Moschetti and Destiny Hernandez scored in the third to make it a 14-3 game.

Destiny Hernandez picked up the final two goals for the Titans in the fourth quarter to complete the hat trick as the Titans were outscored 4-2 in the final frame.

For the Titans, this was the final game for eight seniors as the team will graduate Destiny Hernandez, Gabrielle Zaretskiy, Delaney Latham, Neida Torres, Kendal Santos, Mikka Von Scherr, Isabella Schulze, and Stephanie Hidalgo.
