FULLERTON, Calif. — Reyte Rash has been named the Big West Men's Track Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Rash won the men's 400m at the 2024 Big West Challenge Cup last Friday after clocking a personal-best time of 47.48. The mark is the fastest in the conference so far this season.
The Riverside native won the first heat of the event by more than a second. Rash also finished more than a half-second faster than second heat winner Patrick Henderson of Long Beach State. Titan teammates Ian Dossman and Alonzo Floriolli finished third and fourth, respectively, while Dominic Gates placed eighth in the event.
Rash is the current school record holder in the men's 400m hurdles, running a time of 50.76 at the NCAA West Prelims last season. He also won the men's 400m hurdles at last season's Big West Championships with a 50.95 and was part of Fullerton's winning men's 4x400m relay team at the meet.
The Titans return to action this weekend with a pair of road meets. Fullerton's distance squad will compete at the Mangrum Invitational in San Marcos on Friday, Mar. 22. Additional Titan athletes will participate in the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational at UCLA on Saturday, Mar. 23.
