BIG WEST RELEASE
IRVINE, Calif. - The Big West Conference announced the 2024 women's soccer yearly honors and the Titans were represented by six different players. The Titans had two players named to the All-Big West First Team, two named to the All-Big West Second Team, One All-Big West Honorable Mention, and one to the All-Big West Freshman Team. The Titans have had at least one representative named to the All-Big West Freshman team for 12 straight seasons.
Sophomore forward
Kaylee Noble was named to the All-Big West First Team. Noble, who was the All-Big West Freshman Player of the Year last season, led the Titans in points this season with 15 points on six goals and three assists. Noble's 15 points were third in the conference. She was in a three-way tie for third place with six goals. She had the second most shots on goal with 22 and the seventh most shots with 45. Noble earned a Big West Offensive player of the week award at the beginning of the season after scoring a brace against the University of San Diego. These were the second career honors for Noble after being named to the All-Freshman team last season.
Junior midfielder
Isabella Cruz was named to the All-Big West First Team. Cruz was second on the team with 12 points on 4 goals and 4 assists. She was tied for ninth in the conference with her 12 points. Two of her goals scored this season were game winning goals against UC Riverside and UC San Diego. This was the second straight season where Cruz was named to the All-Big West First Team. Cruz became the 12th member in program history to have earned two All-First Team honors and the first since Megan Day in 2022.
Junior defender
Kaylin Raibon was named to the All-Big West Second Team. These were the second postseason honors of her career after being named to the All-Big West First Team last season. Raibon was a back-to-back selection for the All-Conference Coaches Preseason Team. After leading the team in goals scored last year, Raibon has three points this year. She picked up an assist against the University of San Diego and scored her only goal of the season against UC Irvine. Raibon led all field players with 1,558 minutes played and was one of two players to have started all 19 games so far this season. She was a mainstay on the back-line that has allowed just 20 goals all season, the second best mark in the Big West. The Titans defense has kept six shutouts this season.
Redshirt Junior defender
Taya Townsell was named to the All-Big West Second Team. These were the first postseason honors of her career. Townsell has started 18 of 19 games for the Titans and was third in total minutes played at 1,454 minutes. Townsell has led the Titans defense that allowed the second fewest amount of goals scored in the Big West at 20. Townsell was also named the Big West Defensive Player of the week after the first week of the season after leading the Titans defense in a shutout against the University of San Diego. The Titans defense has kept six shutouts this season.
Redshirt Junior goalkeeper Ranson was named a Big West Honorable Mention. Ranson, who was the Big West Goalkeeper of the Year, picked up their fifth career postseason honors. Ranson was previously the Goalkeeper of the Year/All First Team (2023) and All-Second Team/All-Freshman team (2022). The Titans goalkeeper kept sixth clean sheets this season and led the team with 1,670 minutes played. Ranson made 92 saves after facing 249 shots and led the Big West with a .821 save percentage. Ranson was named the Big West Defensive Player of the Week in the second week of the season and also named to the Coaches All Big West Preseason team. The goalkeeper has climbed their way up the ranks in a couple different goalkeeping categories. They are second in total saves with 277 career saves, sixth in goalkeeper victories, second in career shutouts, and third in career minutes played with 5,089 minutes played in goal.
Freshman defender
Isabella Contreras was named to the All-Big West Freshman team. Contreras was the 18th Titan to be named to the All-Freshman team and continued the Titans streak of having at least one player named to the All-Freshman team since it began in 2012. Contreras has one point for the season after picking up an assist against the University of Nevada. They have played in all 19 games and have started in 11 straight games since breaking into the starting lineup in the Titans final non-conference match against LMU. Since Contreras entered the starting lineup, the Titans defense has allowed just ten of the 20 goals scored by opponents this season.
The Titans finished the regular season with a 6-9-4 overall record and a 4-3-3 record in conference play. The Titans finished as the No. 6 seed in the Big West Championship and will take on No. 3 UC Santa Barbara on Sunday at 12:00 p.m.
