Box Score SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Despite using a 12-2 run to come back and win set three, Cal State Fullerton women's volleyball fell in four sets (13-25, 15-25, 26-24, 9-25) Saturday afternoon at Cal Poly. The loss moves the Titans' record to 1-12 overall and 0-4 in Big West action.Â
Fullerton hung around early in the first set, with Garis setting up Williams for a kill to bring the Titans within a point, 7-6. But the Mustangs then jumped to a 14-7 lead. Kills by Fasavalu and Williams brought the score to 19-12 for Cal Poly before the Mustangs scored six of the frame's final seven points to win it, 25-13.Â
After falling behind early in the second frame, Campbell posted a kill and Fasavalu tallied a solo stuff to bring Fullerton within two, 6-4. A kill and an ace by Campbell as well as a block from Fasavalu and Williams later brought the score to 19-14 for Cal Poly. The Mustangs ended the set on a 6-1 run to take it, 25-15, and go up 2-0 in the match.Â
The Titans found themselves facing a 20-12 deficit in the third set before back-to-back kills from Martinez cut the Mustangs' lead to six. After Cal Poly scored the next two points, Beaver posted a pair of kills and an ace to force a Cal Poly timeout.

The Mustangs scored out of the timeout to take a 23-18 lead, but kills from Martinez, Beaver and Campbell highlighted an impressive 6-0 run to bring Fullerton to set point, 24-23. Following a Cal Poly kill, Campbell tallied a kill of her own and Fasavalu and
Kylie Griffin posted a block to seal the comeback and take set three, 26-24.Â
Cal Poly seized control early and maintained it throughout in the fourth set, with the Mustangs jumping out to a 12-4 advantage. Campbell, Martinez and Fasavalu each posted kills in the frame but Cal Poly ran away with the set, 25-9, to seal the 3-1 match win.Â
The Titans now return home for a matchup with UC Irvine on Tuesday, Oct. 3, at 6:00 p.m. PT.Â
