FULLERTON, Calif. — Camren Willis won the men's long jump while Christian Wood took second to highlight Day One of the Ben Brown Invite/AstroAI Distance Classic.
Willis won the event with a mark of 7.17m, while Wood followed with a 7.08m. Will Dower finished 13th with a mark of 6.52m, while Sean Ayale (17th, 6.30m) and Drake Nguyen (18th, 6.29m) also tallied top-20 finishes.
Catherine Dahlberg took 6th place in the women's javelin with a mark of 32.17m, while Nicholas Hvidsten took 8th place on the men's side with a mark of 45.99m. Andi Woods posted a 30.07m to take 10th place.
In the men's hammer throw, Joshua Tan recorded an 8th-place finish with a 54.39m. Jeremiah Castellano took 11th in the men's 800m with a time of 1:55.52 while Olivia Ruiz also took 11th in the women's 800m with a 2:18.56.
In the AstroAI Distance Classic, McKaylie Caesar raced to a 6th place finish with a time of 16:31.29. Mia Bergman followed with a time of 16:57.45. Vicente Huerta took fourth place in the men's 1500m with a time of 3:52.91. Four Titans finished in the top-16 of the women's 1500m, including Ruiz (8th, 4:39.86), Laura Velasco (10th, 4:42.46), Unique Ford (14th, 4:44.44) and Ashlynn Viramontes (16th, 4:47.34).
The Titans resume the action with Day Two of the Ben Brown Invite taking place tomorrow, Saturday, March 11th at home.
