Impressive Performances at Ben Brown Invite

The Titans hosted the Ben Brown Invite on Thursday and Friday where they recorded 35 personal-bests and 23 podium finishes.

 
FULLERTON, Calif. – The Fullerton Titans hosted the annual two-day Ben Brown Invitational on Thursday and Friday. Half of the Ben Brown field events were on Thursday while the rest was done on Friday, along with all running events.
 
The Titans recorded seven personal-bests on Thursday. Jocelyn Alexander logged a personal-best 56.32m hammer throw, finishing in fourth. Abigail Reichard also recorded a personal best in the hammer throw with her 39.67m mark. Natalie Buffolino also competed in the event and was just two meters short of her current personal best. On the men's side, Hagop Marmarian and Aidan Cornthwaite both competed in their first hammer throw. Marmarian finished in ninth while Cornthwaite logged a 41.16m mark.
 
Keith Orona, Dominic Tubbs and Soloman Gater competed in the only other men's throwing event on Thursday. Orona and Tubbs finished in 12th and 13th in the men's javelin throw while Gater recorded a personal-best 37.98m throw. Olivia Walker recorded a fifth-place finish on the women's side, with a personal best 30.83m mark.
 
The Titans competed in the long jump events and Sydney Roquebrun highlighted that event with a first place, 5.70m jump. Mayalee Osola logged a 5.34m sixth place finish while Johnson recorded a 5.18m jump. On the men's side, Rahsaan Dozier tallied a 7.28m first place finish and Camren Smith was right behind with a 6.73m long jump. Brasen Durkalec also competed in the event and logged a 6.43m personal best.
 
Gater recorded a podium finish in the men's pole vault with a 4.15m, third place finish. Tubbs also competed and logged a 3.70m eighth place finish.
 
The Titans wrapped up the field events on Friday where five more personal bests were recorded. Judah Withey, Buffolino and Reichard were the three Titans to post personal bests in the discus events on day two. Withey broke his previous record by 4.20m with a new 44.42m. Buffolino's 42.52m performance broke her previous 38.55m while Reichard set a new best at 40.78m
 
The Ikolo brothers took over the men's high jump and Sebastian Ikolo took the first-place spot in the event. Ikolo set a new personal-best with a 2.15m jump. Gabriel Ikolo recorded a 1.86m jump, finishing in 10th.
 
Caleb Mabins competed in the men's triple jump, taking home another first-place title. Mabins' 15.59m jump was a new personal-best. Dozier and Smith made their way into the top 10 of the event. On the women's side, Roquebrun made it onto the podium, finishing in first with an 11.08m jump.
 
In the shot put events, Withey recorded a 14.85m throw. On the women's side, Alexander and Kaylah McNairy threw themselves into the top 10 of the event.
 
The running events got started with both the men's and women's 4x100m relay teams placing second. Devin Bragg, Abel Jordan, Dominic Gates, and Isaiah Emerson posted a 39.58 finish. Jazzmin Williams, Nancy Dematte, Arionn Livingston, and Brooklyn Davis put together a 45.38 second place finish.
 
In the 4x400m relays, Parker Harrison, Gates, Devin Bragg and Emerson recorded a first place 3:15.48 finish. Rider Cooper, Jordan, Dozier, and Christopher Goode ran a 3:19.24 fifth place finish. Kofi Rossi, Fernando Valenzuela, Bradley Riehl, and Durkalec posted a 3:20.59 finish. Brooklyn Harris, Livingston, Bella Turner and Alyssa Heinlein finished in second on the women's side. Mia Walker, Osola, Emily Johnson, and Rosie Nowlin finished with a time of 3:55.39.
 
Jordan, the 110m hurdles leader, recorded another first-place finish with a 13.86 mark. Orona finished with a personal best, 14.95, rounding out the top 10. On the women's side of the 100m hurdles, Jahzara Davis logged the highest finish for the Titans with a 13.67 second place finish. Osola and Turner made their way to the top 10 and Osola's 13.84 mark set a new personal best.
 
Jordan picked up his second gold medal of the day in the men's 100m event. His 10.26 time led a total of 72 runners, including six Titans, four of which made the top 10. On the women's side, four more Titans made the top 10. Livingston and Davis, who finished seventh and ninth, each recorded personal bests.
 
Fullerton kept the personal-bests coming as seven more were tallied in the 800m events. Natalyn Membreno led the way with the first-place finish with a time of 2:06.22 while teammate, Ashlynn Viramontes was right behind her in second with a time of 2:08.29. Both podium finishes were personal-bests. Fiona Holloway and Kalei Aoki-Chance were the other two Titans with personal-bests. On the men's side, Rossi, Cooper and Valenzuela logged their own personal-bests.
 
Heinlein placed at the top of the podium in the women's 400m hurdles while Turner and O. Walker were right behind in third and fourth. Turner's 1:00.39 was a personal-best. Bradley Riehl competed in the men's event and finished third with a time of 53.83.
 
Dematte had the best finish for the Titans in the 200m event, finishing third with a time of 23.90, a new personal best. She was one of eight Titans to compete in the women's 200m event and one of four to break a previous PR.  Emerson logged a seventh place, 21.28 new best in the men's event.
 
Fullerton moved into the AstroAi Distance Classic where the Titans swept the podium in the women's 1500m event. Membreno posted another personal-best finish with a time of 4:34.34 at the top of the podium. Holloway and Barbora Svobodova were right behind in second and third with times of 4:36.41 and 4:37.37. Diego Mejia raced for the men and finished with a 3:55.77 time in third place.
 
The Titans wrapped up the first home meet of the season with the 5000m events. Makena Oliva and Isabella Smith found their way to the top 10 while Shandy Moore set a personal-best in the women's event. Carlos Maradiaga also recorded a personal best with a time of 14:45.87 on the men's side.
