FULLERTON, Calif. – On Thursday, the Big West Conference announced Ian Dossman as the 2026 Men's Track Athlete of the Year.
 
Dossman had an impressive season, breaking multiple program records and being the first male Titan to make it to the NCAA Championship finals since 2004. Dossman finished seventh in the men's 200m dash in Eugene, Oregon and was named First Team All-American.
 
The Titans junior earned Athlete of the Meet at the Big West Championships after finishing first with a wind-aided 10.02 mark in the 100m and also finished first in the 200m with a record-breaking time of 20.20. Dossman's pair of first place finishes at the conference championship earned him a spot at the NCAA West First Round.
 
The Big West Men's Track Athlete of the Year went on to break the program record in the 200m again in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the NCAA West First Round with a first-place time of 20.15, punching his ticket to the Championships in Oregon. Dossman also competed in the men's 100m dash where he finished 12^th with a time of 10.20, qualifying for nationals.
 
Dossman also ran the last leg of the men's 4x100m relay which finished with a time of 38.93, setting a new school record and tied the conference record. The team finished seventh in Fayetteville, qualifying for a spot in Oregon. The 4x100m relay team posted a 40.77 time at nationals.
 
Individually, Dossman recorded a 10.32 finish in the men's 100m semifinals. He finished seventh in the 200m semifinals for a chance to compete in the finals becoming the first male Titan to make it that far in 22 years. In the finals, the Elk Grove native ran a 20.24 time, seventh at the NCAA Championships.
