Dossman Finishes Seventh at NCAA Championships

The Cal State Fullerton Titans finished out the season at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon on Friday evening.

Eugene, Ore. – The Titans proudly represented Cal State Fullerton on the biggest stage in collegiate track and field this week. Ian Dossman made his statement, being the first Titan to advance to the NCAA Finals since 2004.
 
The men's 4x100m relay kicked off the meet on Wednesday evening. Isaiah Emerson, Abel Jordan, Dominic Gates and Dossman posted a 40.77 time in the prelims.
 
Jordan and Dossman competed side by side in the men's 100m dash. Jordan ran a 10.29 time, finishing in 20th. Dossman clocked a 10.32 mark, nabbing 22nd. In the 200m, Dossman finished in sixth, qualifying for Friday's finals with his 20.32 time.
 
Keith Orona competed in the decathlon where he tallied 7,270 points, finishing in 17th. At the end of day one, Orona tallied 3,819 points. He ran an 11.41 time in the 100m dash and recorded a 6.62m long jump. His highest placement of the meet came in the shot put where he logged a 14.45m mark. He closed out day one with a 2.01m high jump, finishing eighth and then a 51.33 time in the 400m.
 
On day two, the Titans senior logged a 15.46 time in the 110m hurdles and a 42.01m discus throw. In the pole vault, he hit the 4.31m mark, logged a 53.66m javelin throw and finished strong with a 4:52.85 time in the 1500m.
 
On Friday, Ian Dossman ran a 20.24 time in the 200m finals, finishing in seventh place.
