Day One Results
MALIBU, Calif. – The doubles tandem of Karla Portalatin and Sarah Nuno highlighted a fine day for Cal State Fullerton on the opening day of prequalifying action out at the All-American Championships in Malibu. The tandem upset Florida State's duo of Andrea Garcia and Julia Mikulski 8-7 (4).
The victory for the Titan tandem puts them in the prequalifying semifinals vs. North Carolina's Cameron Morra and Chole Ouellet-Pizer, Sunday at 10 am PT.
Genevieve Zeidan also competed in singles action, but dropped a pair of matches. She fell to Ole Miss' Tea Jandric in hard-fought three-set match, 6-7 (4), 7-6 (5), 6-3. She then fell to LSU's Taylor Bridges 7-6 (6), 6-0 in another consolation match.
The Titans will resume tournament play on Sunday.
