NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's soccer team played to a 3-3 draw against CSUN on Saturday evening in their first road Big West contest of the season.
The Titans moved to 4-2-4 on the season.  They are 0-2-3 on the road so far this season. The Titans and Matadors played to their four consecutive draw over the past four seasons.
After the Titans were domianting the first minutes of the game outshooting CSUN 5-to-1, the Matadors scored the first goal of the game in the 30th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
However, the Titans continued to press for a goal and were rewarded a couple minutes later.Â
Allison Craycroft made a save and sent a ball up the field to the midfield.Â
Cassie Villanueva found herself at the end of a long bouncing ball in the box and headed it over the keeper and Jaidyn WIlliams was there to shoot it into the open net to tie the game at 1-1.
The Titans took the lead a few minutes later after some brilliant individual work from
Sail Bozinovic. After being thrown the ball on a throw in near midfield, Bozinovic diced through the Matador defense and shot it past the keeper's far corner from outside the box to give the Titans a 2-1 lead heading into halftime.
The Matadors equalized early to start the second half after taking advantage off a Titan's defensive turnover. Â They crossed the ball over the Titans dfense to a wide open Lia Peterson who shot it past Craycroft to make it a 2-2 game.
The Titans eventually found the go-ahead goal in the 73rd minute behind
Cassie Villanueva. Â
Camryn Cruz had a shot blocked by the CSUN goalkeeper but Villanueva was there to clean up the rebound and put the Titans ahead 3-2.
The Titans had a great opportunity to bury the game in the 79th minute after unselfish play from the forwards but
Sasha Amezcua had her shot saved after being 1-on-1 with the goalkeeper.
The Matadors tied the game with four minutes left in the game. Â After the ref paused the game for a head clash at midfield, he gave the Matadors an uncontested free kick at the midfield. Â The long ball from the restart bounced off a Matador attacker to Jana Akins who shot it past Craycroft to give the Matadors a late equalizer.
For the game, the Titans outshot the Matadors 16-to-11 with a 9-to-5 shot on goal advantage. Â
The Titans head back home on Wednesday to host Cal Poly. Â Kick-off set is set for 6:00 p.m. at Titan Stadium.
