WSOC Picked 3rd, Cruz Named to All-Preseason Coaches Team

IRVINE, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton women's soccer team was picked to finish 3rd in the Big West Conference Preseason Coaches poll it was announced on Wednesday.  The league also announced the Coaches Preseason All-Big West team with senior midfielder Camryn Cruz being selected to the team.

The Titans are coming off a 14-3-3 overall season and 6-2-2 record in conference play.  The Titans ended a 4-game losing streak in the Big West Tournament after beating Cal State Bakersfield in the first round.  They fell to eventual tournament champions Cal Poly in the semifinals.  

Camryn Cruz was named to the All-Big West Coaches Preseason Team.  In her first year with the Titans, Cruz was one of the most influential players on the pitch for the team.  She led the Titans field players in minutes (1,611) and was second on the team with 13 points.  She scored six goals and tallied one assist.  She was tied for the conference lead with 5 game-winning goals.  She was named to the All-Big West First Team after her standout season.

It was a tight four way race at the top of the poll.  Last year's Big West Tournament Champion Cal Poly were picked to finish 1st with five first place points with 100 points. While UC Santa Barbara was also tied for first with 100 points and four first place votes.  The Titans came in right behind them with 98 points and one first place vote.  Newcomers Utah Valley were picked up to finish fourth with 95 points and two first place votes .  UC Irvine (5th/76 points) and newcomer California Baptist (6th/75 points) rounded out the top six.  

The coaches selected 11 players representing eight teams to the 2026 preseason All-Big West Women's Soccer Coaches Preseason Team. The Team consists of eight seniors/graduates and three juniors.  

Last year, Isabella Cruz and Kaylin Raibon were named to the All-Big West preseason team.
