FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton lost game three to UC Davis by a final score of 6-2 Sunday afternoon at Goodwin Field. The Titans drop to 21-25 on the year and 13-11 in Big West play.Â
UC Davis jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on a two-run home run in the top of the second. The Aggies added one run in the third inning to extend the lead to 3-0. UC Davis scored two more runs in the sixth to take a 5-0 lead.Â
The Titans struggled offensively as they were shutout until the bottom of the eighth inning. With runners on first and second, Max Ortega came through with a single through the left side of the infield to score Paul Contreras.Â
Esteban Olazaba kept the inning going with an RBI single up the middle of the infield to bring home Hunter Meyer and cut the deficit to 5-2.Â
UC Davis quickly regained momentum, hitting a solo home run in the top of the ninth to take a 6-2 lead.Â
The Titans are back in action Tuesday night at USC for the final midweek game of the season. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
