Irvine, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton Titans tallied five gold medals at the Steve Scott Invitational at UC Irvine on Friday and Saturday.
Luke Hitchcock,
Hawkin Miller and
Camren Smith each broke a program record at the two-day meet.
On the field,
Jocelyn Alexander nabbed a second place, podium finish in the women's hammer throw. Alexander posted a 55.35m throw. Alexa Sheldon rounded out the event's top 10 with a 48.48m throw, just .13m shy of her personal best.
Keith Orona picked up a pair of fifth place finishes in the men's pole vault and javelin throw. Orona recorded a 4.33m pole vault and a 53.92m javelin throw.
Solomon Gater competed alongside Orona in the javelin and logged a 33.05m mark.
In the women's high jump,
Maya Osola and
Olivia Walker both recorded 1.54m jumps. The pair of Titans finished in 11
th and 12
th. On the men's side,
Sebastian Ikolo recorded a first please 2.12m jump, just short of his current 2.15m personal best. His brother,
Gabe Ikolo also competed in the high jump and recorded a 1.94m mark, finishing in sixth.
Smith led the Titans with a personal-best 7.39m long jump, finishing in second place.
Rahsaan Dozier and S. Ikolo finished in fourth and fifth with 7.29m and 7.27m jumps.
Caleb Mabins rounded out the event with a 6.78m mark. On the women's side,
Sydney Roquebrun recorded a new personal-best 6.10m long jump.
On Friday, the distance runners represented the Titans on the track.
Samuel Berhane ran a personal-best 9:20.44 steeplechase, finishing in fourth.
Natalie Maahs led Fullerton with a top 10 finish in the women's 5000m with a time of 17:23.89.
Caitlyn Cilley and
Shandy Moore also ran alongside Maahs. On the men's side,
Andrew Quast recorded a fifth place 14:40.64 time with
Justin Singer right behind him at the 14:54.92 mark.
Carlos Maradiaga rounded out the top 10 with a ninth place 14:57.52 finish.
Nathaniel Avila and
Noah Chairez also ran for the Titans.
Hitchcock broke the previous school record in the men's 800m with a first-place time of 1:47.20.
Diego Mejia,
Jacob Brown and
Kofi Rossi also ran with Hitchcock and finished in sixth, seventh, and eighth, all recording personal bests.
Natalyn Membreno finished in first place on the women's side with a 2:05.92 personal best time.
Grace Toriz joined Membreno on the podium after her 2:18.83 third place finish.
Ashlynn Viramontes,
Barbora Svobodova,
Fiona Holloway,
Kalei Aoki-Chance and
Lexi Cilley all finished in the top 10 of the women's 800m.
Dylan Jubak and
JT McCoy competed in the men's 1500m for Fullerton. Jubak ran a personal best time of 3:49.39, finishing in eighth place while McCoy ran a 3:56.64 time.
Makena Oliva highlighted the women's 1500m with a 4:28.78 fourth place finish, a new personal best.
On Saturday, Miller broke his own school record with an 18.68m shot put. Miller finished in first of 21 athletes.
Brayden Bitter finished in fourth with a 16.92m throw.
Hagop Marmarian and
Judah Withey also competed for the Titans. Alexander,
Kaylah McNairy and Sheldon competed on the women's side and Alexander led the way with a 13.53m top 10 finish.
Smith also broke a school record with a first place 15.76m mark in the men's triple jump. Dozier posted a 13.43m jump. Roquebrun competed in the women's triple jump and recorded a 10.60m jump.
Starla Skiles represented the Titans in the women's 100m hurdles with a tenth place 14.76m finish, a new personal best.
Solomon Gater competed in the men's 110m hurdles and finished at the 15.51m mark.
Skiles also competed in the women's 400m hurdles and recorded a 1:04.62 time, finishing in seventh. Nicolo Owens ran on the men's side and finished with a personal best 53.99 fifth place time.
Brooklyn Harris and
Fernando Valenzuela competed for the Titans in the 400m dashes. Harris finished at the 56.54 mark while Valenzuela finished with a time of 50.02.
Devin Bragg and
Jazzmin Williams each recorded ninth place finishes on their respective side in the 100m dashes. The pair of Titans also competed in the 200m dashes. Williams ran a 25.06 200m while Bragg recorded a personal best time of 21.16, finishing in fourth.
