FULLERTON, Calif. – After taking first place at the PING/ASU Invitational, Davina Xanh has been named Big West Golfer of the Month, the conference announced Friday afternoon.Â
Xanh's tournament victory at Arizona State was the fourth of her career and has now been named golfer of the month five times in her career. The win also tied her with Martina Edberge for most career top-20 finishes with 32 while extending her program best rounds at par or better to 61.
The senior was steady throughout the three-day tournament in Arizona, shooting 4-under 68 in round one followed by an even par 72 in the second round before finishing with another 4-under par 68 to claim the outright victory. In a defining moment, she holed a clutch bunker shot on her 53rd hole for birdie to take the lead, edging out top-ranked NCAA player Catherine Park (#10).
Xanh's performance reflects her steady rise this spring, as she has climbed 25 spots in the national Scoreboard rankings since February and now sits at No. 95 overall.
The Titans and Xanh are back in action Monday through Wednesday at the Chevron Silverado Showdown in Napa for the final tournament before the Big West Championship.
