Titans Open Outdoor Season At RCC Invite

The Fullerton Titans opened the 2026 outdoor season at the RCC Invite on Friday.

Riverside, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton Titans opened the 2026 outdoor season at the RCC Invite on Friday. The Titans had many collegiate debuts and finished with eight podium finishes.
 
Dylan Jubak brought in the first gold medal of the day as he led the Titans in the men's 1500m run with a new personal-best 3:57.43. Justin Singer made his way onto the podium with Jubak, finishing in third with a time of 3:58.55. Matthew Kubler followed with a 4:00.53 fourth place finish. Diego Mejia and Carlos Maradiaga also ran for the Titans in the 1500m event.
 
The Titans kept the distance going, as Kalei Aoki-Chance finished with a time of 2:19.25 in the women's 800m run, finishing in eighth. Grace Toriz was right behind, as she finished in 11th. Fernando Valenzuela made his Cal State Fullerton debut on Friday in the men's 800m run with a time of 2:01.72.
 
The Titans had a total of 13 distance runners compete in the 3000m events. On the men's side, Singer and Samuel Berhane found themselves in the top five, while Shandy Moore made her way in the top five on the women's side.
 
The relays began with the women's 4x400m team; Toriz, Moore, Natalie Maahs and Caitlyn Cilley. The finished with a time of 4:22.75. The men's A team (Vincent Carnegie, Bragg, Tubbs, Mejia, Riehl and Valenzuela) finished in sixth with a time of 3:26.60 while the B team (Berhane, Andrew Quast, Singer and Jubak) finished at the 3:41.29 mark.
 
Fullerton then moved onto sprints where Jahzara Davis reeled in the second first place finish of the day with a 13.57 performance in the women's 100m hurdles. Mia Walker ran a 14.60 time recording a new personal best. Starla Skiles also competed and logged a ninth place, 14.86 finish.
 
Four Titans competed in the women's 400m and all four placed in the top 15. Brooklyn Harris recorded a personal-best 57.17 mark, finishing in fourth. Walker, Skiles and Rosie Nowlin stayed close together, finishing in 13th, 14th and 15th. On the men's side, Bradley Riehl and Dominic Tubbs finished in 15th and 17th.
 
Jazzmin Williams made her way onto the podium in her collegiate debut with an 11.87 time in the women's 100m dash. Williams finished in second of 41. Jaiden Hill and Tayla Brunger ran with Williams. Hill finished in sixth with a time of 12.04 while Brunger finished at the 12.39 mark. Devin Bragg represented Fullerton on the men's side with a fifth place, 10.66 finish.
 
Hill tallied onto the Titans podium finishes in the season opener with a third place, 24.85 in the women's 200m dash. Harris made her way to another top ten with a sixth-place finish. Nowlin also competed in the event and finished with a time of 26.91. On the men's side, Bragg posted a fourth-place finish with a time of 21.89.
 
On the field, Tubbs logged a third-place javelin throw with a personal best 50.00m mark. He also set another personal best in the men's pole vault with a 3.80m mark, finishing in seventh.
 
Judah Withey made his collegiate debut in the men's shot put and discus throw on Friday. He recorded a 14.18m shot put, finishing ninth and a 40.22m throw in the discus throw. Brielle Moseley took her shot at the women's discus throw and finished in third with her 44.41m throw. 
 
Three Titans made their collegiate debuts in the women's hammer throw at the RCC Invite. Natalie Buffalino recorded a seventh place, 43.10m throw while teammates Abigail Reichard and Moseley finished in 16th and 17th.
 
Brasen Durkalec logged a 6.81m long jump, finishing in eighth of 15 and falling just 0.02m short of his personal best.  Caleb Mabins rounded out the day in fifth place with a 14.10m triple jump.
 
The Titans are back in action next Thursday and Friday, Mar. 12-13 as they host the annual Ben Brown Invite.
