Albuquerque, N.M. – The Fullerton Titans traveled to Albuquerque for the final regular season indoor meet of the season on Friday and Saturday. Two Titans broke records in the Heptathlon and Pentathlon while other Titans posted impressive performances before heading into the MPSF Championships next month.
On Friday, Fullerton track athletes competed in the 200m events.
Briyanna Word,
Brooklyn Davis,
Jazzmin Williams, and
Bella Turner ran for the women. Word logged a 24.14 time in her first collegiate 200m race, finishing in 26
th of 65.
Jazzmin Williams also competed in her first 200m, recording a 25.09 mark.
Brooklyn Davis ran a 24.33 time, finishing three places behind Word and Turner logged a 25.78 finish.
On the men's side,
Parker Harrison,
Christopher Goode and
Dominic Gates ran in the unseeded 200m dash. Harrison led the Titans, finishing in 18
th of 62 with his new personal-best time of 21.26. Gates also recorded a new personal-best time of 21.68. Goode ran a 22.00 time on Friday.
Ian Dossman and
Isaiah Emerson represented Fullerton in the 200m invitational. Dossman recorded a sixth place, 20.78 time while Emerson ran a 21.32, finishing in 13
th.
On the field,
Sydney Roquebrun was the only female Titan to compete on Friday. Roquebrun recorded a 5.81m long jump. Her 9
th place finish on Friday replaced her previous personal best of 5.64m.
Rahsaan Dozier competed in the men's long jump, posting a 7.15m jump for an 11
th place finish.
Brayden Bitter and
Hagop Marmarian represented the Titans in the men's weight throw event. Bitter logged a 15.86m throw while Marmarian had a 15.66m throw.
On day two of the New Mexico Collegiate Classic, Roquebrun competed in the women's triple jump and logged a 13.65m mark in her first time competing in the event at the collegiate level. Dozier and
Camren Smith competed in the men's event. Smith finished in seventh at the 15.17m mark and Dozier in 16
th with a 13.65m mark.
Marmarian competed in the men's shot put on Saturday and recorded a 13.93m throw.
Abel Jordan shined for the men's track athletes, finishing in second place in the men's 60m hurdles. Jordan posted a 7.82 time in the preliminary round and then a 7.75 time in the semi-finals before finishing with a time of 7.66.
Turner,
Mia Walker,
Starla Skiles and
Maya Osola raced in the women's 60m dash. Turner recorded a time of 8.70, followed by Osola and Walker who finished in 27
th and 28
th. Skiles recorded a time of 9.16.
Dossman, Gates, Williams, and Davis represented Fullerton in the 60m dashes. Dossman had the highest placement from the Titans out of the two events with his 6.72 time, finishing in 17
th and Gates ran a 6.94 time. On the women's side, Davis ran a 7.58 while Williams finished at the 7.63 mark.
In the 400m events,
Arionn Livingston finished in 11
th with her time of 53.83. Behind her was
Nancy Dematte at 54.67, Word at 55.3 and
Alyssa Heinlein at 55.37. On the men's side, Harrison ran a 47.68 dash while Goode ran a 49.63 time.
Keith Orona competed in the heptathlon over the weekend and logged 5477 points, beating the previous school record of 5470 and finishing third in the event. The penthathletes also beat the previous school record at the NM Collegiate Classic. Osola finished in third with 3569 points and
Olivia Walker was right behind her in fourth with 3496 points.
The Titans return to the track on March 1 when the MPSF Championship kicks off in Reno, Nev.
