VALENCIA, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton finished the Bruin Wave Invitational in fourth place after shooting 12-over par 876 Monday and Tuesday at the Valencia Country Club. 

The Titans finished behind No. 1 Stanford, No. 8 Pepperdine and No. 12 UCLA while beating No. 44 Oregon State by 20 strokes. Fullerton has finished in the top-5 in five out of six tournaments this season. 

Davina Xanh and Kaitlyn Zermeno Smith led the Titans individually with tied for sixth place finishes after shooting 3-under par 213. Both Xanh and Zermeno Smith have three top-10 finishes this season. 

Xanh got off to a strong start with a 4-under par 68 in round one before shooting a 74 in round two and a 71 in the third and final round. 

Zermeno Smith improved throughout the tournament, shooting a 73 in the first round followed by a 71 and a 3-under par 69 in the third round. 

With a score of 6-over par 222, Katharina Zeilinger finished the tournament in 20th place (71-74-77). Koa Seymour shot 22-over par 238 to place tied for 61st (81-76-81)

Louise Dahl finished in 79th after withdrawing from the second round of the tournament, shooting a 73 and 79 in rounds one and three. Zara Ali, who competed as an individual, placed tied for 43rd with a score of 17-over par 233 (83-77-73). 

The Titans are back in action Monday, Mar. 9 and Tuesday, Mar. 10 at the Yale Invitational West in La Quinta, Calif.
