Titans Wrap Up Nevada Invitational

The Titans closed out the Nevada Invitational with a record-breaking relay on Saturday.

Reno, Nev. – The Titans rounded out the Nevada Invitational with another handful of podium finishes on Saturday. Cal State Fullerton recorded 11 podium finishes on day two, six on the track and five on the field. The Titans tallied a total of 35 top 10 finishes in the final day of the Nevada Invitational.
 
Briyanna Word, Arionn Livingston, Alyssa Heinlein and Nancy Dematte competed in the women's 4x400m relay and recorded a record-breaking 3:40.90 time. The pack of Titans broke the previous school record by 3.23 seconds and placed first out of 18 teams.
 
The women kicked off the 800m run with four Titans in the top 10. Natalyn Membreno led the way, finishing in first with a time of 2:13.93. In fifth, sixth and seventh place, was Fiona Holloway, Makena Oliva, and Isabella Smith. The two sophomores finished at 2:16.72 and 2:17.20 while Smith finished at the 2:17.34 mark. Ashlynn Viramontes also raced and fell just short of a top ten placement, finishing in 11th.
 
On the men' side of the 800m run, Kofi Rossi finished on the podium with a third place, 1:54.88 time. JT McCoy was right behind him with a 1:55.06 fourth place finish.
 
The Titans continued their distance performances with a first-place title in the women's 3000 run. Smith logged a 10:08.62 first place finish with Membreno behind her in seventh with a 10:55.22 mark. McCoy ran in the men's event and placed fourth with a time of 8:45.05.
 
Eight Titans competed in the men's and women's 200m dashes and all eight placed in the top ten. On the men's side, Maleik Pabon led the way with a 21.28 second place mark. Dominic Gates and Christopher Goode finished in eighth and ninth. On the women's side, Livingston recorded a 21.95 time, finishing in third. Brooklyn Davis logged a sixth-place finish while Heinlein and Dematte placed eighth and ninth.
 
Goode and Word represented Fullerton in the 400m events. Goode nabbed a sixth-place mark and Word finished ninth.
 
Fullerton's men's field athletes tallied three first place finishes on Saturday. Damari Miller recorded a 13.98m triple jump, Brayden Bitter with an 18.09m shot put and Sebastian Ikolo with a 2.09m high jump.
 
Hawkin Miller competed in the shot put and recorded a 17.65m third place throw. Keith Orona participated in both shot put and high jump. Orona logged a 13.26m throw in the shot put and a 2.00m high jump, for a third place tie.
 
On the women's side of the field events, Alexa Sheldon recorded a top ten, 13.03m mark in the women's shot put. Jocelyn Alexander had a 12.29m throw and Mayalee Osola with an 8.89m throw.
 
The Titans are back in action at the University of Washington Invite, Jan. 30-31.
