Big West Release
IRVINE, Calif. - It was announced by the conference on Monday that RS-Senior goalkeeper
Isaac Ranson was named the Big West Defensive Player of the Week.
In the Titans 1-0 win over San Jose State on Thursday,
Isaac Ranson made five saves after facing eight shots from the Spartans. Ranson also picked up the first assist of their career after starting a counterattack on a San Jose State corner and heaving the ball up field to
Sasha Amezcua who assisted
Isabella Cruz on the Titan's game winning goal. In the Titans Big West opener on Sunday, Ranson made three saves after facing eight CSUN shots.
Ranson is currently tied for fourth in the country with six shutouts. He's top the Big West with the nearest BWC keeper having only 4 shutouts. Ranson has played a huge part in the defense that has allowed just three goals so far this season. Only Florida State, Houston, and Virginia have allowed fewer goals this season (2). The Titans are one of eleven undefeated teams left in the country.
This is the eighth weekly honors that the goalkeeper has won during their tenure at Fullerton and their seventh defensive player of the week honor. This is the fourth player of the week honor in the six weeks so far for the Titans women's soccer team in the 2025 season.
Isaac Ranson was the defensive player of the week in week one,
Isabella Cruz was the offensive player of the week in week 2,
Sail Bozinovic was the offensive player of the week in week 5.
Isaac Ranson is currently one save away from tying Karen's Bardsley all-time career save records with 312 saves. Ranson is also just two shutouts away from tying Bardley's 26 shutouts which currently tops the Cal State Fullerton women's soccer record book.
The Titans have one game this week where they will travel to UC Riverside on Thursday. Kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
