FULLERTON, Calif. – The Titans Men's Water Polo Coach Kyle Witt announced the signing of 11 new student-athletes for the upcoming 2025 season.

"We have lofty goals for our third season of competition. Having nearly half of our team playing their third season of Division I will be a nice change from our inexperience that showed last season at times. Once again, the Big West is the second most competitive conference in the country and we have high goals of being right in the mix competing with everyone game to game", Coach Witt said.

Carmelo Bangs
UTL | Turlock, Calif. | Orange Coast College
"Coming from Dan Matulis and the OCC program at the junior college level, we expect him to make the Division I adjustment quickly. Carmelo is ready and excited to compete with our program and he brings a unique skill set that can help our 12 side attacking group."

Andrew Barnuevo
UTL | Irvine, Calif. | Saddleback
"We are placing a big point of emphasis on having Andrew lead our offense from the center forward position as a transfer from Saddleback. His scoring and ability to command a zone will cause our opponents to focus on ways to stop him. Andrew will have a great season with the Titans and we look forward to having him be a part of the reason our program takes a giant step forward this season."

Samuel Branco
UTL | Folsom, Calif. | Jesuit HS
"Sam has been a great addition to our program and he is already competing at a high level in our training camp. He is a 12 side attacker has been improving rapidly competing against our starting group. Due to the depth of our program on that side of the pool, playing time will be difficult to secure during his first year. He has continued to impress the coaching staff with his growth and offensive aggression."

Ethan Ivey
GK | Auckland, New Zealand | West Valley College
"Last year, we graduated the top JC transfer goalkeeper in Garrett Henderson, and we believe we have brought in the top JC transfer goalkeeper to replace the graduated starter. Ethan has earned the spot and is quickly adjusting to our defensive schemes. His movement and hand eye coordination are a huge help to us once things break down."

Ethan MacLeod
UTL | Johannesburg, South Africa | West Valley College
"Ethan is a lefty coming to us from West Valley College. West Valley has competed for the last few CCCA championships in a row and the high scoring lefty is a huge reason why. Our 45 side has a lot of talented left-handed attackers and MacLeod is going to be right in the mix of playing time and having on impact on our goals."

Ethan Merritt
UTL | Porterville, Calif. | Cuesta College
"Ethan is another one of our junior college transfers that has competed and trained at the highest level that junior college water polo has to offer. He is a true utility player where his role can be adapted based on what our team needs fixed. He will be asked to perform a multitude of tasks for us, but we are most excited for his toughness that he brings and will be a big part of our fighting spirit that we are trying to build within our team culture."

Ryan O'Donovan
ATK | Placentia, Calif. | Orange Coast College
"Ryan joined our team in the spring semester and has been training with us for quite a while. After graduating from OCC, Ryan joined our team in the spring of 2025. He has made a ton of progress during that time and we have been very impressed with his work ethic as he fights for his playing time this year."

Jace Peterson

"Jace transferred to CSUF after spending a semester at Concordia of Irvine. Jace is a hard shooting lefthanded attacker that has embraced the jump in competition. Adjusting to the high level of training, competition, and expectations what I have been most impressed with for Jace."

Francesco Schiaffino
UTL | Chiavari, Italy | Liceo Linguistico Da Vigo Nicoloso
"Francesco is our first international freshman to join our program. A lot will be asked of him in his first year. He is a lefty sniper who has played in the top levels of the Italian leagues at the youth level. We are expecting him to have an immediate impact and to compete with our left-handed attackers right away for serious playing time."

Marton Thuroczy
C | Budapest, Hungary | Whittier College
"Marton transferred to CSUF after one year at Whittier and he will immediately step into a major defensive role for us. Leading our defense from the center defender position will be the entry point for his playing time but we are really excited for his offensive talents to take shape this season within the Big West."

Luke Vargas
UTL | Santee, Calif. | Santana HS
"Luke is expected to make an immediate impact with our program in his first year. The center forward position is a demanding position, and he has progressed great during our training camp. Having a deep rotation of three talented centers should help us compete during the tournament portion of our season."
