CARLSBAD, Calif. – After making history by winning The Big West Championship and advancing to the NCAA Championships as the first-ever No. 10 seed in a regional, Cal State Fullerton's 2024-25 campaign has come to a close at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa.
Fullerton made history this season, winning its first ever Big West title before earning fifth place at the Gold Canyon Regional to advance to its first NCAA Championship. The Titans had four individual tournament victories this season and two team tournament titles throughout the year.
Kaitlyn Zermeno Smith, who was the individual champion at the Big West Championship and was named Big West Golfer of the Year, finished the NCAA Championships tied for 63rd with a score of 7-over par 223 (73-75-75). Zermeno Smith's finish was three strokes back from the final advancing individual.
Katharina Zeilinger placed tied for 101st after shooting 11-over par 227 (76-75-76). Davina Xanh shot 13-over par 229 to finish the NCAA Championships tied for 120th (77-74-78).
Louise Dahl wrapped up the weekend tied for 134th with a score of 17-over par 233 (84-77-72). Zara Ali shot an 82 and 81 in the first two rounds. Jordyn Janert was subbed in for the third and final round and shot 18-over par 90.
Cal State Fullerton is just the eighth Big West team to qualify for the NCAA Championships, and the first since 2015. The Titans made an historic first appearance, to join UC Davis (4 appearances) and UC Irvine (3) as the only three league programs to achieve the feat.
