IRVINE, Calif. – After a standout performance at the Chevron Silverado Showdown, Kaitlyn Zermeno Smith has been named Big West Golfer of the Month for April, the conference announced Friday. 

Zermeno Smith earns her second career Big West Golfer of the Month honor and second of the season after taking home the award for February. The Titans have now taken four out of the five golfer of the month honors this season. 

The junior finished the Chevron Silverado Showdown tied for fourth place after shooting 4-under par 212. Zermeno Smith had an impressive 6-under par 66 in the first round before shooting a 73 in rounds two and three. The junior finished one stroke ahead of the No. 2 ranked player in the country from USC. 

The Titans turn their attention to The Big West Championship beginning Sunday at the Spanish Trail Country Club in Las Vegas.
