Six School Records Set the Tone in Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Titans' indoor track and field team traveled to Spokane, Washington on Friday, Feb. 20 for the MPSF Indoor Track and Field Championships. The Titans' men had a strong performance and finished the meet in fourth place with a total of 105 points, while the women's side finished in eighth place with 32 points.

Fullerton looked determined to make their mark on the competition posting one first-place, four second-place, and two third-place finishes along with setting six school records.

Mayalee Osola put together a complete performance in the Women's Pentathlon as she scored 3,331 points to set Fullerton's Women's Pentathlon all-time record.

Ian Dossman also set a school record Saturday afternoon in the Men's Indoor 200m crossing the finish line at 20.86 and narrowly missing the podium by three-hundredths of a second. Dossman concluded his strong outing by also earning a third-place finish in the Men's 60m Hurdles with a posted time of 6.69.

Maleik Pabon etched his name in the Titans' record book in the Men's Indoor 400m finishing the event with an official time of 47.26 which topped Justin Lowe's 2023 record-breaking time of 47.39.

Luke Hitchcock broke his own school record Saturday afternoon in the individual mile. Hitchcock finished the race at 4:06.33 ousting his previous best by three-hundredths of a second.

Tony Chavez, Christopher Goode, Jonathan Pfeifer, and Talman Young set the all-time record in the Men's Distance Medley Relay with a time of 10:00.42 breaking the record that was previously set last year.

Tony Chavez got his name in the record books for the second time of the meet when broke the school record in the Men's Indoor 3000m with a time of 8:24.97.

Joshua Hornsby took second place in the Men's 60m Hurdles with a time of 7.78 behind Washington State's Parker Duskin who finished the event with a time of 7.71.

Jahzara Davis also took home a second-place finish in the Women's 60m Hurdles with a time of 8.39.

On the field side of things, Brayden Bitter and Hawkin Miller finished first and second in the Men's Shot Put with Bitter recording a throw of 17.70m and Miller finishing with a 17.35m throw.

Finally, the Men's 4x400 team closed out the MPSF Championships with a third-place finish. Maleik Pabon, Christopher Goode, Rider Cooper, and Donovan Garcia completed the event with a time of 3:11.76 that was good enough for the fourth-best time in Fullerton's history. 

The Titans are back in action for the NCAA Championships Mar. 17-18 in Virginia Beach, VA.
