FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Cal State Fullerton men's and women's indoor track and field brought home 12 podium finishes in the final rounds of competition at the Ron Mann Classic hosted by Northern Arizona University on Friday.
The Titans collected seven top three finishes in field events, highlighted by
Hawkin Miller and Alexa Sheldon's first-place finishes in the men's and women's shot put.
Miller landed his shot at the 17.84m mark, breaking the previous school record of 16.90m that he previously set at the 2024 MPSF Championships. Brayden Bitter measured a 16.18m, taking third place, while Hagop Marmarian (13.51m) took 13th place.
On the women's side, Alexa Sheldon shot 13.89m for first place. Emma Samvelian (12.80m),
Jocelyn Alexander (12.57m) and
Sahira Lepes-Sanchez (12.52m) joined Sheldon in the top 10.
Dannette Haygood measured a 5.47m landing in the women's indoor long jump to take second place. Suraya Newman (5.20m) finished in eighth place, while Georgia James (4.66m) placed 23rd out of 30 competitors. Haygood continued her top 3 performance in the women's triple jump, where she took first place with an even 12.00m jump.
Emma Samvelian (3.95m) brought home a third place finish in the women's pole vault, while
Dylan Beveridge (3.50m) took 14th place.
Miller (18.26m) led the Titans in the men's weight throw with a third-place finish. Marmarian (14.81) finished in 12th place and Bitter placed 16th after landing a throw at the 13.50m mark. On the women's side, Sheldon (4th, 15.55m), Alexander (5th, 15.48m), and Lepes-Sanchez (10th, 13.82m) ranked in the top 10.
Rebecca Reyes led the Titan women in the high jump, recording a 1.55m jump for sixth place. Emoree Smith and Josephine Ray both recorded a 1.50m to tie for 13th place, while Georgia James (1.45m) placed 18th.
The Titans took home six top three finishes in the running events, including the preliminary rounds.
Luke Hitchcock (1:50.97) set a new record in the men's indoor 800m dash after finishing in second place.
Marco Perez placed fifth with a time of 1:55.60. Natalyn Membreno brought home a third place finish after clocking a personal-best 2:16.41 in the women's event. Julia Rudolph finished in fifth place, crossing the finish line in 2:17.13.
Jayde Charlton placed second in the women's 200m dash after crossing the finish line at the 24.80 mark. Arynn Sanders (25.93) placed 16th and
Yasamin Zand (27.40) took 38th place.
Tayla Brunger (7.45) took third place in the women's 60m dash final after placing second in the event's preliminary round. Charlton followed closely behind Brunger in third place, finishing the race in 7.50.
Aryianna Faircloth (7.70) joined the Titans in seventh place.
In the women's 400m dash,
Alero Soaris brought home a third place finish after running a 56.10. Jaiden Hill (56.53) and Olivia Walker (57.45) joined Soaris in the top 10 with a sixth and eighth place finish. Chloe Waters placed 22nd with a run time of 1:02.94. On the men's side, Rider Cooper (48.40) took eighth place, while
Christopher Goode (48.74) came in 11th.
Long distance runners
Tony Chavez and
Bella Smith represented the Titans in the men's and women's mile race. Chavez was the fifth runner to cross the finish line in 4:22.48, while Smith (5:25.52) placed 12th.
In the 60m hurdles,
Donovan Garcia and Mayalee Osola advanced to the final rounds, both recording personal bests. Garcia (8.24) placed fifth on the men's side and Osola (8.84) took eighth on the women's side.
Brunger, Ashley Odiase, Hill, Walker and Rudolph (3:54.06) took fourth place in the women's 4x400m race, while Cooper, Goode, Jonathan Pfieffer and Hitchcock (3:19.96) took sixth place in the men's event.
The Titans travel to Albuquerque for the two-day New Mexico Collegiate Classic on February 7-8.
