PALM DESERT, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton women's golf slowly climbed the leaderboard each day to finish the Alice and John Wallace Golf Classic in fourth place with a 17-over par 869 Monday afternoon at the Monterey Country Club. 

Kaitlyn Zermeno Smith led the Titans individually with a fifth place finish after shooting a career-best 209. Zermeno Smith, much like the Titans as a team, improved each day to finish the tournament 4-under par. The junior shot a 72 in round one followed by a 70 and 67 in rounds two and three. 

Davina Xanh finished the three-day tournament tied for 14th place with a score of 2-over par 215. Xanh was even par through the first two days before shooting 2-over in the final round. 

Zara Ali shot a 6-over par 219 to finish the tournament tied for 27th (75-71-73). Katharina Zeilinger placed tied for 55th with a 13-over 226 (73-75-78). Jordyn Janert finished in 106th place after shooting 28-over 241 (82-81-78). 

Oregon took first place after shooting 34-under par, 23 strokes ahead of the second place team. Suvichaya Vinijchaitham of Oregon took first place individually with a 12-under par. 

The Titans are back in action next Monday and Tuesday at the Bruin Wave Invitational, hosted by UCLA and Pepperdine.
