Reno, Nev. – The Titans closed out the Silver State Invite on Saturday in record-breaking fashion.
Camren Smith and
Rider Cooper broke school and facility records and four finished on the podium, including the women's relay team.
Camren Smith highlighted the Titans Field performances on Saturday. Smith logged a 15.50m jump in the men's triple jump on Saturday, breaking the facility and current school record of 14.62m, set last season. Smith finished first of six.
Emily Johnson and
Keith Orona represented the Titans in the shot put events. Johnson recorded a 10.11m throw and Orona logged a sixth place, 14.07m shot put.
Rider Cooper broke the second record of the day with his 46.63 performance in the men's 400m dash. Cooper beat the facility record as well as
Maleik Pabon's previous record of 47.26 that he set last year. Pabon was the other Titan to race in the 400m and logged a 47.93 fifth place finish.
In the women's 400m dash,
Nancy Dematte and
Alyssa Heinlein represented Fullerton. Dematte finished in fourth with a time of 55.15 while Heinlein finished in seventh with her 55.84 mark. The pair of Titans also competed with
Olivia Walker and
Bella Turner in the women's 4x400, where the team recorded a 3:46.42 third place finish.
The women had impressive performances in the 60m hurdles as
Maya Osola and Turner's preliminary performances put them in the finals. Turner recorded an 8.74 seventh place finish in the preliminary round and went on to run an 8.75, finishing in sixth. Osola ran an 8.76 eighth place finish in the prelims and finished in seventh in the finals with her time of 8.78.
Keith Orona ran the men's 60m hurdles and recorded an 8.55 10
th place finish.
Brooklyn Davis and
Ian Dossman were the two Titans to represent Fullerton in the 60m finals. After running a 7.58 in the prelims, Davis recorded a 7.62 finish in the finals, placing fifth. Dossman was first in prelims with his time of 6.69 and finished with a time of 6.76 in the finals for a fourth place spot.
Freshman,
Kofi Rossi, logged the final podium finish of the day with his 1:19.01 time in the men's 600m, placing second.
The Titans head back to Reno for the Nevada Invitational on January 16 and 17.
