LAWRENCE, Kan. – Cal State Fullerton earned its third consecutive top-5 finish to start the season, placing third at the Marilynn Smith Invitational after shooting 27-over par 879 Monday and Tuesday at the Lawrence Country Club. 

Katharina Zeilinger led the way individually for the Titans with a fifth place finish, shooting 4-over par 217. Zeilinger shot a 76 in the first round before finishing with a 1-under par 70 and even par 71 to climb up the leaderboard. For Zeilinger, it is her first career top-5 finish. 

Louise Dahl nabbed her third-career top-10 finish after placing tied for eighth after shooting 7-over par 220 (74-70-76). Kaitlyn Zermeno Smith finished the two-day tournament tied for 15th with a score of 9-over par 222 (71-74-77). 

After shooting 10-over par 223, Davina Xanh placed tied for 17th (71-75-77). Zara Ali shot 19-over par 232 to finish tied for 48th (77-81-74). 

The Titans wrap up the fall schedule later this month at The Ally in West Point, Miss. The three-day tournament begins Monday, Oct. 20.
