LA JOLLA, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's soccer team got back on track after winning 1-0 at UC San Diego on Sunday afternoon at Triton Soccer Stadium.
The Titans improved to 11-2-2 overall for the season and 4-2-1 in conference play. The Titans kept pace with the leading sides on the table as they moved to 13 points for the season. CSUN is in first place with 17 points, Cal Poly in second place with 16 points, the Titans and Anteaters are tied with 13 points, and UCSB is right behind them with 12 points.
The Titans scored the only goal of the game in the 33rd minute behind
Camryn Cruz's fifth game winning goal of the season.Â
The Titans outshot the Tritons 19-to-14 for the game.  The Titans came out aggressive to start the game with six shots in the first 20 minutes of the game. Â
After a freekick outside the box, the Titans finally found the breakthrough goal. Â
Isabella Cruz whipped in a cross that the UCSD goalkeeper spilled directly to
Camryn Cruz. Â Cruz was able to keep her composure and shoot it past the keeper to make it a 1-0 game.
The Titans took their 1-0 lead into halftime.Â
In the second half, the Titans outshot the Tritons 10-to-5 for the half.  They had multiple good looks but were thwarted by the Tritons goalkeeper each time.
The Titans defense were able to see out the game and preserve the clean sheet to earn their 10th shutout of the season.
Isaac Ranson made seven saves for the game and picked up his ninth clean sheet of the season. Ranson also broke Karen Bardsley all-time shutout record with the twenty seventh shutout of his career. Â
After being on the road for the past three games, the Titans will host rivals UC Irvine on Thursday night and Long Beach State on Sunday night for their final two regular season home games.
Kick-off for Thursday is set for 6:00 PM
