FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's soccer team battled UC Irvine to a 0-0 stalemate at home at Titan Stadium on Thursday evening.
The Titans and Anteaters both gained a point and both sides remain at 14 points in the Big West table.  The Titans continued to fight for pole positioning in the top six in the Big West table.  Cal Poly tops the table with 19 points, CSUN is second with 17 points, UCSB is third with 15 points, the Titans and UCI are tied for fourth with 14 points, and Cal State Bakersfield has 13 points.
The Titans defense was phenomenal as they held UC Irvine to just seven shots with zero shots on target.
Isaac Ranson picked up his tenth clean sheet of the season.  The Titans had 15 shots with six shots on goal. With
Isaac Ranson's 28th career shutout, he has moved into a tie for fifth place all-time in the Big West Conference with Kim McCaskey (Pacific/1997-99). Next up on the list is a third place tie with Jovani McCaskill (CSUN/2013-17) and Ashton McKeown (LBSU/2013-16) with 29 career shutouts. Â
The Titans outshot UC Irvine 5-to-4 in the first half. In the second half, the Titans attack came alive as the game went on. In the final ten minutes, the Titans had three great chances. Â
Camryn Cruz had a header saved off the line by a UCI defender off a corner kick.
Cayla Oliveira had a shot in the 82nd minute which forced Savanna Arruda to make a finger tip save, and
Sail Bozinovic had a shot sail wide after getting behind a loose ball in the box. Â
The Titans will play their final home game of the regular season on Sunday against Long Beach State. Â Kick-off is set for 5:00 p.m.
