FULLERTON, Calif. – Three players from the Cal State Fullerton baseball team were selected on day two and three of the MLB Draft.Â
Christian Rodriguez was the first Titan off the board as he was selected in the 10th round by the Baltimore Orioles. Last season with the Titans, Rodriguez had a 3-8 record with a 5.45 ERA. The right-handed pitcher recorded 58 strikeouts in 69.1 innings pitched.Â
Right-handed reliever, Andrew Morones, was taken in the 16th round by the Kansas City Royals. In 2024, Morones had a 2-1 record with a 5.18 ERA. Morones struck out a career-high 44 batters in 33 innings pitched.Â
Evan Yates was selected in the 20th round of the MLB Draft by the Baltimore Orioles. Yates missed the 2024 season due to personal reasons. In 2023, the right-handed pitcher had a 3-2 record with a 3.75 ERA in 15 starts and 74.1 innings pitched.Â
With three players taken in this year's draft, Fullerton now has a total of 316 players taken in the MLB Draft dating back to 1968.
