Men’s Basketball Adds Kobe Young for 2024-25 Season

FULLERTON, Calif. — Cal State Fullerton men's basketball head coach Dedrique Taylor has announced the signing of Kobe Young for the 2024-25 campaign.

"We are super excited about Kobe," Taylor said. "He is a high character young man with lots of intangibles. He is multi-dimensional and very talented on both ends of the floor. Winning is part of his DNA and he comes with a lot of experience at the Division I level. We are looking forward to seeing him in a Titan uniform."

A 6-foot-7 guard from Pasco, Washington, Young spent the last three seasons at Boise State. After redshirting in 2021-22, Young played in 52 games over the following two seasons, averaging 1.3 points and 1.4 boards in 6:15 minutes per contest.

Young prepped at Chiawana High School, where he was rated as high as the No. 12 recruit in the state of Washington from the class of 2021 per Scorebook Live. He averaged 23 points and 11 rebounds per game as a senior, garnering first team all-conference honors and a McDonald's All-American nomination. In addition to basketball, Young earned second-team all-conference honors in football at wide receiver and defensive line and tied his school's track and field program record in the high jump.

Young is the third player to sign with the Titan program for the 2024-25 season. He joins true freshmen LoLo Rudolph of San Diego, California, and Davis Bynum of O'Fallon, Illinois.
