Titans Take Ninth Place at the Oregon State Invitational

Matthew Schafer drains an Eagle, Tegan Andrews collects 41 Pars

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Cal State Fullerton men's golf finished ninth out of 12 teams after shooting a 19-over par 871 at the Oregon State Invitational on Tuesday. This marks their second Top 10 finish at a tournament this fall. 

Tegan Andrews led the Titans with a score of 2-over par 215 (73-71-71). Andrews's 41 pars ranked third most of the competition. 

Freshman Will Tanaka tied for 30th place after shooting 5-over par 218. Tanaka recorded his best round of the invitational in the second set of 18 holes on Monday (73-71-74). 

Matthew Schafer (75-77-69) tied for 47th place with newcomer Giacomo Comerio (74-73-74) after recording an 8-over par 221. Schafer was one of 10 golfers to shoot an eagle. 

Patrick Ordonez completed Fullerton's five-man team with a shared finish in 66th place. Ordonez shot a 15-over par 228 (81-76-71). 

The Titans wrap up fall play at the three-day Visit Stockton Invitational hosted by the University of the Pacific, starting on Monday, Oct. 14.
