FULLERTON, Calif. - The No. 67 ranked Cal State Fullerton women's tennis team grinded out a gritty 4-3 win over the No. 37 ranked Utah Utes on Saturday morning at the Titans Tennis Courts.
The Titans completed a perfect 7-game homestand for the month of March where they went 7-0.
Once again, the Titans started from behind after losing the doubles point. Only the No. 2 team of Duffy/Suh won their match as both the No. 1 and No. 3 teams lost their matches.
However, in singles, the Titans were able to grind out the win.
After falling behind 2-0 after YuSeung Suh lost in her match. Natalie Duffy and Eira Tobrand evened the match for the Titans to make it a 2-2 game. Kaytlin Taylor gave the Titans a 3-2 lead before Utah evened it up at 3-3 after Juliette Daries fell in her match. It came down to the final match again with No. 5 Camila Garcia taking on Madison Tattini. Garcia lost in the first set and came back to take the second set with ease. After falling behind 4-3 and 5-4 in the third and final set, Garcia came back to win the third and final set 7-5 and seal the match for the Titans.
The Titans go on a three-game road to begin the month of April. They are at Sacramento State on Friday, April 1st and at UC Davis on Saturday, April 2nd.
