FULLERTON, Calif. – Following standout performances during the 2025 season, Jose de la Torre and Fernando Valenzuela have been named to the 2026 Big West Preseason Coaches' Poll, the conference announced Wednesday. 

De la Torre was named Big West Midfielder of the Year last season and after recording a tied for conference-high 15 points on four goals and seven assists. De la Torre's seven assists led the Big West and ranked tied for 23rd nationally at the end of the regular season. De la Torre also earned First Team All-Big West. The junior was also named to United Soccer Coaches Associated Midfielders to watch 

Valenzuela earned Big West Honorable Mention following the 2025 season. The junior recorded 10 points on the year with four goals and two assists.

Cal State Fullerton was picked to finish fourth in the conference in The Big West Preseason Coaches' Poll with 23 points and one first place vote.
