REDLANDS, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's water polo team completed a perfect 4-0 record at the Och Tamale Invite on Saturday after defeating Fresno Pacific University and Redlands University.
The Titans scored 80 goals for the weekend and allowed just 19 goals in four games. The Titans improved to 10-4 on the season. The weekend was also highlighted by
Destiny Hernandez becoming the first Titans women's water polo player to score 100 career goals after she scored seven goals for the day.
Cal State Fullerton 20, Fresno Pacific 8
The Titans set the tone for the day early after jumping to an early 6-1 lead over the Firebirds in the first quarter.  Fresno Pacific outscored the Titans 3-to-1 in the second quarter and made it a 7-4 game in favor of the Titans at halftime.
In the final two frames, the Titans outscored Fresno Pacific 13 to 4 for the game en rout to the 20-8 win.
Sofia Moschetti led the team with four goals. Â
Destiny Hernandez and
Emme Doube-MacLeod each had a hat trick for the game. Â
Mia Solorzano and
Kenzie Searle both had a brace for the game. Â
Delaney Latham,
Chandler Burrell,
Mikka Von Scherr,
Abby Lockman, and
Hannah Reekstin each scored a goal against the Firebirds.
Renske Boxsem saw her only action of the weekend and played the ful lgame and made six saves agaisnt Fresno Pacific.
Cal State Fullerton 13, Redlands 4
The Titans jumped on top of the hosts early in the second game of the day. Â
Destiny Hernandez scored goals number 98 and 99 of her career to start the game against the Bulldogs. The Titans led 5-0 after the first quarter.
The Titans outscored the Bulldogs 5-to-1 in the second quarter. Â They went on a 9-0 scoring run for the game before the Redlands scored their first goal.
Destiny Hernandez scored the 100th goal of her career to make it a 8-0 game with 4:34 left in the second. Â She followed up with her 101st career goal a minute later to make it 9-0.
In the second half, the Titans and Bulldogs scored three goals a piece.
Alexandra Ortiz got the start in the first game and made one save in the first 16 minutes.
Isabella Walker played the final half and made six saves.
The Titans will play just two games next Saturday at LMU. Â They will take on Chapman University in a neutral game first at 1:00 p.m. before taking on the Lions at 4:00 p.m.
